E. R. ‘Runt' Stone, 89 of Dublin, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2019 in Stephenville.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, May 6th at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Werth Mayes officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery. Visitation will be held at 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM Sunday at Stephenville Funeral Home
Runt was born on August 6, 1929 in Ripley, Tennessee, to the late Thomas Odie and Jettie Christine Bray Stone. He married Imogene Christie on February 27, 1951 in Hamilton, Texas. Imogene preceded him in death on September 20, 1988. Runt married Jane Swan Boling on July 25, 1993 in Dublin. He served his country in the U. S. Army during which he spent 21 months on the front lines in Korea. Runt was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church, and loved to go fishing. He worked over 37 years with the Coca Cola bottling plant in Stephenville, and lived most of his life in Stephenville.
Runt is survived by three sons, Ray and wife Glenda Stone, Rickey Stone, and Michael Dale Stone and wife Pam all of Stephenville; grandchildren, Dennis and wife Carol Stone, Julia Stone, Monty and wife Holli Stone and Jason Smith; great grandchildren, Harper, Dillon, Chloe, and Hagan; step-children, Rhonda and husband Danny Hooper of Argyle, Beverly Pruitt of Oklahoma, Len and wife Jaxine Boling of San Angelo, Laurie Gillispie of Dublin, Lily and husband Ken McGrath of Angleton; step grandchildren, April and husband Mark Patterson, Brian and wife Lara Pruitt, Blaine and wife Kristen Hooper, Sheila and husband Randy Tischler, Cody and wife Brittany Boling, Clayton and wife Jessica Boling, Sara Gillispie, Jake Gillispie, Sharina and husband Brian Mears, Seth and wife Holli Baker, and Slade Baker; and several step great grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Haley, Dorothy and husband Doug Davis, and Loretta and husband Bob Sellars.
Besides his parents, Runt was also preceded in death by brothers Ed, Henry, Richard, and Rhodney Stone and a step granddaughter, Janna Boling.
