Billy Frank Irick July 1, 1926-December 21, 2015 Billy F. Irick, 89, of Stephenville died Monday, December 21, 2015 in Stephenville. "God promised us six days of hard work, and the seventh to rest". Bill, not only embodied that ideal, but also taught by example, passing that virtue to each of his children, and students. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Faith Lutheran Church with Reverend Tom Konz officiating. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday at Stephenville Funeral Home. Bill was born on July 1, 1926 in Aubrey, Texas to the late John and Arvilla Bowman Irick. He served as the Head of the Agricultural Education Department at Tarleton State University for over 20 years, and filled his ‘free time' by laboring to tend his land and provide for his family. Bill also served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Bill is survived by his wife of 64 years, Emma Lou Irick; children, Dianna and husband Billy Hassler, David and wife Irene Irick, Kathy and husband Barry McNellie, and Mary Kay and husband Bryan Davis. He was the proud ‘Pa' of ten grandchildren, Carie Wright, Travis McNellie, Tyler McNellie, Mica Parsons, Darcy Hassler, Nichole Irick, Jane Irick, Shelby Irick, Parker Davis, and Kaylee Davis; nine great grandchildren, Gray, Coby, Cooper, Garrett, Grant, Grace, Grayden, Garrison, and Garner; brothers, John Lee Irick and James Irick; and sister, Joyce Williams. Besides his parents, Bill was also preceded in death by brothers, George Irick and Jack Irick; and a sister, Darlene Lowery. The Irick family wishes expressions of sympathy be made to Faith School at Faith Lutheran Church, Stephenville, Texas.
