Doye 'Buck' Turley

Doye ‘Buck’ Turley, 90, of Stephenville went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 3, 2022.

Graveside services for Buck will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, August 5th at West End Cemetery.  Visitation will be 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM Friday morning at Stephenville Funeral Home.

Doye ‘Buck’ Turley was born September 16, 1931 in Erath County, Texas. He entered into his heavenly rest on August 3, 2022. He was the son of A. G. Turley and Bertha (Merrill) Turley. He married the love of his life, Bennie Cardwell Turley on May 18, 1957 in Stephenville, Texas, and with this union two children were born; Karla Deann and Kerry Lynn.

Buck was a Marine and served in the Korean War. He worked at Clay Building Materials, the Stephenville Post Office, sold real estate for several years, and spent 16 years at Bruner’s Car Sales.

He was an avid reader and his most loved books were on the subject of Texas History and The Bible. He enjoyed Country Music and Bluegrass and played several instruments. In later years, he enjoyed trips to the casino and most of all, time with his family.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 65 years, Bennie Ruth Turley; daughter Karla Burleson and husband Gerry; daughter Kerry Shaw and husband Tony; grandchildren Eli Burleson, Josh Shaw, Jared Shaw and wife Maggie, and Hannah Shaw; 6 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Known as Daddy and Papa, he always made sure to say, “I love you and I’m proud of you,” to each kid and grandkid at every opportunity.
