Dorthy Lee Dunbar

On December 13, 2021, God took his child, Dorthy Lee Dunbar, home to be with him. Dorthy was surrounded by her family before she received her wings.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 am Thursday, December 16, 2021 at the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Weldon Branham officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Upper Greens Creek Cemetery in Erath County.

Dorthy was born on May 3, 1938 in Soper, Oklahoma to the late James and Martha Riddle. The Riddle family moved many times before landing in Hobbs, New Mexico. Dorthy was the fourth of eight children.

On January 31, 1955 Dorthy married Jacob Randolph Dunbar in Hobbs, New Mexico. Dorthy and Jake lived in Hobbs, and move to Texas, living in Kermit, Odessa, McCamey and finally settling in Stephenville, Texas in 1974. The couple had three sons, Jacob Randolph (Karen), Billy Wayne (Linda), and Robert Lee (Louvinda). Robert preceded his mother in death on February 21, 2021.

The true love of Dorthy’s life was her grandchildren: Chelsea, James, Tyler, and Jason. Her great-grandchildren: Kyra, Jordan, Emma, Jaylyn, and Tristin. Jaylyn preceded her grandmother in death.
