Dorothy (Pack) Mcnellie

January 11, 1933 — April 3, 2017

Dorothy Pack McNellie January 11, 1933-April 3, 2017 Dorothy Pack McNellie, 84, of Stephenville, passed away Monday, April 3, 2017 in Stephenville Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, April 8th at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with the McNellie family and Mike Hannah officiating. Burial will follow at Johnson Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday at Stephenville Funeral Home. Dorothy was born on January 11, 1933 to the late Floyd and Mary Belle Pack. At the age of 16, she wed her soulmate, Roger Gray McNellie. They were married for a marvelous 63 years before his passing in 2012. During those many happy decades, as a member of the Church of Christ and in her career as a seamstress and bookkeeper at Parkville Sewing Factory, she made lifelong friends. She had several different names throughout her life: "Dorotha Lee," "Dorothy," "Honey," and "Mom," before she settled into "Granny Dot," who fostered a legacy of love and generosity which not only spanned her life, but which will span many, many generations to come. She is survived by her brother, Albert Pack, married to Jan, and her sister, Linda Mast, with Judy Carter; sons Roger Bruce McNellie, married to Myra, and Barry Lynn McNellie, married to Kathy; grandchildren, Kimbra and Ken Saxon, Carie and Ryan Wright, Krisha and Paul Brister, Kent and Scarlet McNellie, Travis and Melissa McNellie, and Tyler McNellie; and great-grandchildren, Levi, Sara, Gray, Coby, Cooper, Jett, Kyla, Jackie, Joseph, John, Garrett, Grant, Grace, Grayden, Garrison, and Garner. Besides her parents and husband, Dorothy was also preceded in death by sisters, Bonnie Ruth Pack and Marie Riggs. The McNellie family wishes expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to Graham Street Church of Christ, or to their favorite charity. If we can take a moment every day to be as appreciative as she was for both the love that she gave us and the love that she taught us all to give, then perhaps we can join her in saying, during every goodbye, that "This is the best day of my life."
