Dorothy Tate Adkison

Dorothy Tate Adkison, 83, of Stephenville, died Monday, May 24, 2010 in Stephenville. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, at Nancy Smith Cemetery near Glen Rose, with Ed Dittfurth officiating. Under direction of Stephenville Funeral Home Dorothy was born December 26, 1926 in Somervell County to the late Joseph and Matilda McCarty McCoy. She married Alex Hiram Tate on September 5, 1945 in Glen Rose. He preceded her in death November 14, 1974. Dorothy was a member of the Church of God, Stephenville Senior Citizens, and had lived most of her life in Erath County. She was a caregiver. Survivors include her son, Larry Tate of Huckabay; grandson, Joseph Tate of Stephenville; great grandchildren, Nikolas and Galena; step-grandsons, Johnny, Clint, and Greg Rush all of Stephenville; several great grandchildren, including Elizabeth Rush; two sisters, Louise Massey of Stephenville and Jessie Harper of Cleburne. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Linda.
