Donald Charles Gauss June 20, 1931 ~ February 21, 2017 Donald Charles Gauss, 85, of Stephenville passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2017. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Gardens of Memory Chapel. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Stephenville Funeral Home. Donald was born in Webberville, Michigan to Charles and Irene Gauss. Don married Janet A Collins on January 30, 1960, they recently celebrated 57 years of marriage. Don and Jan have been residents of Stephenville for forty years. Don was retired from Tarleton State University. He worked in the Williamston School system and was a farmer prior to that time. He served in the Army, Specialist Third Class, as a mechanic. Don loved to tinker on vehicles and work in his wood shop. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Janet Gauss; daughter, Mary Roach and husband David; son, Brian Gauss and Tammy Cagle; daughter, Sandy Heller and husband Ronnie; grandsons: Wade Christianson; Gage Christianson and wife Jennifer; Greg Gauss and wife Shelley; Chance Gauss and wife Jessica; Blake Heller and wife Lindsay; Brandon Heller; granddaughters: Crystal Gauss; Magen Gauss; three great grandchildren; and brother, Marvin Gauss and wife Diane.
