Don Melvin Weaver November 8, 1932 ~ August 16, 2016 Don Melvin Weaver, 83, of Stephenville passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2016 in Stephenville. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Stephenville Funeral Home with Richard Chapman officiating. A graveside memorial will follow at Loveless Cemetery in Eden, TX at 3:00 PM. A visitation for family and friends will be held at Stephenville Funeral Home from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, August 19. Don was born on November 8, 1932 to the late Leonard H. and Vivian Armagost Weaver in Temple, TX. He married Janice Taliaferro on December 30, 1957. Don received his college education at Texas A&M University, graduating in January of 1957; then returning to earn his Masters of Education in May of 1966. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from July 2, 1957 until July 1959 where he worked as a Cryptographic Repairman in Okinawa, Japan. Don taught school as an Ag instructor in Huckabay, Lingleville, and Priddy, and, after receiving his Masters, he was a teacher, Principal, and Superintendent at several different schools around Texas until his retirement. He had resided in Stephenville for five years and was a member of the Pony Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of almost 59 years, Janice Weaver of Stephenville; sons, Daryle Weaver of Stephenville, Ray Weaver and wife Angela of Orange, and Gaylon Weaver and wife Diana of Converse; grandchildren, Miranda Weaver Woodall and husband Austin of North Richland Hills, Adam Weaver and fiancé Rita of Buda, and Joshua, Caleb, and Timothy Weaver, each of Orange, one great-grandchild, Colt Woodall; sister, Marjorie Weaver Graham Solomon; and brothers, Glen Weaver and Joe Weaver.
