Don Dee Sims

Don was born on June 28, 1941 to Hasley and Ollie Sims in Gorman, Texas. He passed away on December 2, in a Ft Worth hospital. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 5, 2023 and services will be December 6, at 10:00am at Stephenville Funeral Home with burial at West End Cemetery.

Don spent the first 20 years of his life in Comanche until he married his soulmate and best friend, Janice on September 9, 1961. Don went to work for American National Insurance Company as an agent. He then moved up to Assistant District Manager, District Manager and then Regional Director. He retired after 46 years and has been living in Stephenville where most of his family lives.

Don loved playing golf with his buddies and metal detecting. Most important, spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved nothing more than being with his loving family. He is survived by his wife, Janice, one daughter, Jana Floyd and husband, Keith, of Stephenville and one son, Jeff Sims and wife Rhadonna of North Richland Hills.

He is survived by four grandchildren, Chelsea Fimbel and Andrew of Stephenville, Shelbie Willis and Justin of Stephenville, Ashton Sims of North Richland Hills and one grandson, Colton Sims of Flower Mound. He is also survived by three great granddaughters, Riley Paige Fimbel, Hannah and Aislyn Willis as well as his two precious fur babies, Katie and Charlie, that he adored. Also, numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers. Also, an infant grandson, Cory Don.
