Don Metsgar

Don Metsgar, 81, of Stephenville passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2015 in Stephenville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 1st at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Gary Williams officiating and Montie Stewart assisting. Burial will follow at Huckabay Cemetery in Huckabay. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM, Saturday, January 31st. Don was born January 10, 1934 to Earl and Cecil Hamilton Metsgar in Erath County. He married Betty Spain on November 6, 1953 in Stephenville. Don was a Baptist by faith and a lifelong resident of Erath County. Don is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty Metsgar; daughter, Donna Hodges and husband Billy Bob; son, Darrin Metsgar and wife Leah; daughter, Deanna Richardson and husband Troy; grandchildren, Jason Hodges and wife Faye, Chad Hodges and wife Teri, Holly Hodges, Megan Metsgar, Dylan Metsgar, Mackenzie Metsgar, Raelyn Metsgar, Callie Richardson; great-grandchildren, Olivia Hodges, Ava Hodges, Laynee Hodges, Madeline Hodges, Huntly Hodges; sister, Jean Quassa; numerous nieces and nephews; and extended family, the Jose and Lupe Martinez family. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Cecil Metsgar.
