Don Wesley Ledbetter

Don Ledbetter, 69, of Valley Mills, passed away Sunday October 5th, 2014 surrounded by family at the Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco. A celebration of life will be held from 5:00pm to 7:00pm Tuesday, October 7th at the Stephenville Funeral Home Family Center in Stephenville Texas. Don was born on September 10, 1945 in San Francisco, CA to the late Robert and Agnes Ledbetter. He was a graduate of Huckabay High School and Tarleton State University. He married Becky Little of Hamilton on June 14, 1969. He was blessed with two wonderful sons Wesley and Russell. He retired from the Farm Credit System in 2002 after 22 years of service. Prior to that successful career, he was in the dairy business, coached basketball for several years, and served in the National Guard for six years. He enjoyed many outdoor sports activities especially fishing, boating, camping, golf and he played a mean game of 42 dominos. For a short time after retirement, he taught motorcycle classes. Don is survived by his wife Becky Ledbetter; sons Wesley and wife Brandi of Hewitt ; Russell and wife Christa of Austin; brother Edward and wife Melody of Stephenville; granddaughters Jordan and Maren; mother-in-law VaRue Little; a niece Crystal; three nephews Cody, Clint and Dustin; cousins and friends. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Agnes Ledbetter, and a brother Larry Ledbetter.
