Don Douglas, 68, of Stephenville, died Tuesday, February 21, 2012 in Fort Worth. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, at the First United Methodist Church with Reverend Howard Martin officiating. Graveside services will follow at West End Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM Thursday at Stephenville Funeral Home Don was born on July 25, 1943 in Memphis, Tennessee to the late Herman E. and Helen Lavelle Douglas. He married Patti Norton on July 17, 1964 in Memphis, Tennessee. Don received his Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tennessee Technical. He served in the U. S. Air Force. Don served as Past Commander of the Turnbow-Higgs American Legion Post 240, and was currently serving as 17th District Commander. He served several years on the Planning and Zoning Commission with the City of Stephenville, and also served on the Star Council Board of Directors. He was involved several years with Boy Scouts of America. Don was a member of the Stephenville Optimist Club, and was currently serving on their Board of Directors. He has lived the past 20 years in Stephenville. Don was employed at FMC Corporation as an Engineering Manager Survivors include his wife, Patti; sons, David and wife Gretchen Douglas of Austin, and Greg and wife Amy Douglas of Firestone, Colorado; daughter, Amy Laird of Friendswood; brother, Dale Douglas of Cookeville, Tennessee; and six grandchildren. Besides his parents, Don was preceded in death by a son-in-law, John Laird.
