Deltha Slaughter Elliott October 19, 1923 - October 1, 2017 Deltha Slaughter Elliott, 92, of Stephenville, passed away Sunday, October 01, 2017 in Stephenville. A graveside service will be held 10:00 am Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Hico Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm Monday at Stephenville Funeral Home. Deltha was born on October 19, 1923 in Hico, Texas to the late Robert "Bob" and Myrtle Herrin Slaughter. She married the love of her life, Charles F. Elliott, on February 14, 1946 in San Angelo and he preceded her in death on June 24, 1977. Deltha was raised in Hico and San Angelo learning her work ethic from her mother. She worked for many years as an administrator of nursing homes where she was known as a maverick who could turn a place around to become a well-functioning establishment. Deltha was a take charge person. In her own words, "I have been the boss all my life. And I'm still bossy." Left to cherish her memory are her cousins; nieces, and nephews; and a host of loving friends.
