Debbie Giles Dillingham, 61, of Austin, passed away with her love, J. D., by her side, and her cat, Jazpur in her lap, on Wednesday, February 1, 2023.
Funeral services for Debbie will be at 11:00 AM, Thursday, February 9, 2023 at Stephenville Funeral Home with Rodney Payne officiating. Burial will follow at West End Cemetery. Visitation with the Dillingham family will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday at Stephenville Funeral Home.
Debbie was born on July 26, 1961, in Abilene, to Ronnie and Linda Posey Giles. She attended public school in Stephenville, graduating from Stephenville High School, class of 1979. Debbie went on to Tarleton State University, majoring in business, graduating from Tarleton in 1986. While at Tarleton, Debbie was very active. She was a member of the DST Sorority, and Purple Poo, and many other Tarleton activities.
On May 25, 1991, she married the love of her life, J. D. Dillingham. They were married in Stephenville. Debbie and JD loved to travel, especially those places deemed to be ‘haunted’. Those places being Salem, Louisiana plantations, and the Menger hotel. Debbie was also an avid music lover, and she and JD shared a passion for the Grateful Dead. They traveled several places just to see them. More than anything, Debbie loved spending time with her family.
Debbie was in the banking business for several years. After that she went to the University of Texas, and became the HR director for the Student Union.
Debbie was preceded in death by her father, Ronnie Giles.
Debbie is survived by her husband, J. D.; mother, Linda Giles of Stephenville; brother, Kent Giles of Stephenville; her nieces, Brittany Giles of Granbury, and Haley Giles of Austin; her beloved cats, Jazpur and Pig Pie; and numerous close friends.
