David Lee Laird

David Lee Laird, 60, of Grapevine, died Thursday, December 27, 2007, at HEB Hospital in Bedford. Graveside services 3:00 PM, Saturday at Tarleton Cemetery in Palo Pinto County. David was born on April 6, 1947 in Stephenville to the late J. V. and Lillie Ruth White Laird. He graduated from Stephenville High School in 1965, and received his business degree from Tarleton State University in 1969. He was a retired accountant, working for Stephenville Savings and Loan over ten years, and worked several years as comptroller for Bruner Motor Company. He was a life member of the NRA, former member of the Stephenville Lions Club and Oklahoma City Gun Club. David was born and raised in Stephenville, and spent most of his life in Stephenville. He has lived the past 5 years in Grapevine. Survivors, wife, Linda; son, James David Laird of Wichita Falls; James' mother, Patsy Laird of Stephenville; brother and sister-in-law, John and Laura Laird of Stephenville; two nieces, Jean Laird of Irving, and Lu Ann and husband Anthony Bundrant of Austin Memorials may be made to the J. V. and Lillie Ruth Laird Memorial Scholarship at Tarleton State University.
