Darvin Turley

Darvin Turley, 82, of Stephenville, died Monday, September 19, 2011 in Temple. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Werth Mays officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday at Stephenville Funeral Home. Darvin was born May 3, 1929 in Erath County to the late A. G. and Bertha Merrill Turley. He married Louise Johnson, May 1, 1954 in the Selden Community. Darvin served in the U. S. Marine Corp during Korea, and received the Purple Heart. He was a Baptist, and life long resident of Erath County. Darvin worked over 25 years with Texas Power and Light, and later worked as an electrician. Survivors include his wife, Louise; daughter, Taressa and husband Tony Huey of Abilene; grandchildren, Kristi Johnson, Monty Turley, and Neely Turley; great grandchildren, Lexi Johnson, Victoria Turley, and Vanessa Turley; two brothers, Doye and wife Bennie Turley of Stephenville, and Curtis and wife Dorothy Turley of Dublin; sisters-in-law, Johnnie Turley of Dublin and Alpha Turley of Stephenville He was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Wayne Turley in 1998; two brothers, Doug and Aundrew Turley, and a sister, Aundernette Pair.
