Darrell Griffin

Darrell Griffin, 49, passed away on Wednesday, December 29, 2021.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, January 3, 2022, at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Werth Mayes officiating.  Burial will follow at Smith Springs Cemetery.  Visitation with the Griffin family will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday at Stephenville Funeral Home.

Darrell was born on July 30, 1972 in Stephenville to Bill and Joyce (Shelton) Griffin.  He married Mandi Sloan on September 16, 2007 in Stephenville.  Darrell came from a long line of hard workers.  He spent 30 plus years of his life excavating graves, and preparing graveside sets for Stephenville Funeral Home, and surrounding funeral homes.  Many of these years were spent working alongside his father, bill Griffin.  Later, after his father retired, his wife, Mandi, filled that position.  Darrell enjoyed this time with the love of his life, so much, that he refused to accept offers if it meant she could not be with him.  Mandi worked tirelessly, helping Darrell when his health began to decline.

Darrell has also enjoyed his time with his brother, Dale, taking side jobs together, and tinkering countless hours on cars, lawnmowers, or whatever else interested them in the moment.

Darrell loved his family with a big heart, spending time with his parents, making them happy.  He was a selfless individual, putting others before himself.  He was an outdoorsman, spending any time he could in Port Aransas, where he enjoyed fishing, and relaxing with his wife.

Darrell loved the Lord, and he loved singing old gospel hymns.  Our family has that peace that he is now with his Heavenly Father.  His race is WON!

Darrell is survived by his wife, Mandi; sons, Dylon, Brandon, and Tim; parents, Bill and Joyce Griffin; sisters, Dianne and husband Ed Eads, Donna and husband Kenneth Mills, and Denise and husband David Garner; brother, Dale and wife Jenny Griffin; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and daughter, ‘Little Dog’.
