Courtney Lynn (Gray) Eakins

April 28, 1979 — August 8, 2014

Courtney Lynn (Gray) Eakins, 35, of Stephenville left this earth in peace on Friday, August 8, 2014 surrounded by family at her home. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Greg Hamilton, Pastor Tom Konz, and Brother Werth Mayes officiating. Burial will follow. Visitation will be Monday from 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM at the funeral home. Courtney was born April 28, 1979 to Jerry and Debra Gray, of Stephenville. She was a 1997 graduate of Stephenville High School. She married Robert Eakins on September 13, 2005. Courtney was the owner of File & Style beauty salon where she and her team put smiles on peoples' faces daily. Courtney was a true inspiration to so many as a cancer survivor who lost a limb, but not her determined spirit, after first being diagnosed in July 2011. She was a red-headed spit-fire who went out of her way to serve others. She dedicated countless hours to Faith School as President of the Parents of Faith School organization. Courtney rallied the group to raise the most dollars ever earned by the organization after her second diagnosis. A playground will be named in her memory. She knew her children were provided a safe place to Believe, Belong, and Be Loved at Faith School. Courtney's legacy is carried on through her children, Reese and Rhett. She is survived by her husband, "her rock" Robert Eakins; parents, Jerry and Debra Gray; sister Christin Pack and brother-in-law, Shane Pack; grandparents, B.W. and Ann Gray; in-laws, Kenneth and Pam Eakins, Terry and Tara Eakins, Kendale and Amber Eakins, and Monica Tate ‘Maw'; special nieces, Brooke, Kenley and Khloe; and nephews, Kelsey, Matt, Michael, Morgan and Kyler that adored their Aunt Court-Court, all of Stephenville. Courtney was preceded in death by her grandfather, Kenneth Goddard. The family wishes expressions of sympathy be made in Courtney's honor to help Faith School continue to grow in love for children. Faith School, 3000 NW Loop, Stephenville, TX 76401.
