Chitchi Ellen (Couger) Fambro

Ellen (Chitchi) Fambro August 17, 1932-July 3, 2016 Ellen (Chitchi) Fambro, 83, of Stephenville, died Sunday, July 3, 2016, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 6th at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Gary Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Hannibal Cemetery. There will be NO formal family visitation. Chitchi was born on August 17, 1932 in Shackelford County, Texas to the Bill and Lucille Couger and her brother John Watt Couger. She was a 1949 graduate of Albany High school. She married Joe Fambro on September 5, 1950 in Albany, Texas. Chitchi and Joe lived in Erath County for 51 years until Joe's death on February 7, 2002. Chitchi helped with the family ranch and was bookkeeper for the family construction business. She was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Stephenville Zonta Club, Erath County Historical Society, Texas Sheep and Goat Raisers Association Auxiliary; and Distinguished Friends of Tarleton State University. Survivors include son, Alex and wife Beverly Fambro of Stephenville/Huckabay; and grandson, Camron and wife Jane Fambro of Stephenville The Fambro family wishes expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to Joe Fambro Memorial Scholarship, c/o Tarleton Foundation, Box T-0260, Stephenville, Texas 76402, or to Foster's Home for Children, P.
