Catherine Arendell

Catherine Arendell, 95, of Stephenville, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2009 in Stephenville. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church in Stephenville. Interment will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Erath County. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm 8:00 pm, Tuesday, at the Stephenville Funeral Home. Catherine was born on June 4, 1914 in Mullin, Texas to the late Ernest and Amy Warren Duren. She married Homer Arendell on May 10, 1936 in Stephenville and he preceded her in death on May 19, 1985. Catherine is a retired educator teaching throughout the Cross Timbers area and also worked for Selective Service. She was an active member of various community organizations and church groups at Stephenville First United Methodist Church. She is survived by a brother, Roddy Duren; and 5 grandchildren, Anna Arendell, Erin Arendell Patton, Todd Arendell, Adam Arendell, and Evan Arendell. Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, Homer, and a son, Joe Arendell. Memorials may be made to the Fosters Home for Children.
