Carroll Golightly, 74, of Stephenville, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2014 in Fort Worth. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, March 27th at Cowboy Church of Erath County with Werth Mayes officiating, and burial to follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM Wednesday at Stephenville Funeral Home. Pallbearers for Carroll: Alan Kinsel, Brandon Kinsel, Zack Kinsel, Zeb Kinsel, Korby Quirl, and Jason Quirl; Honorary Pallbearers: Marcus Quirl, Andy Quirl, Paul Don Mewbourn, Larry Lambert, Ronnie Rose, Gail Wilson, Wayne Jones, and ‘Little' Grant Golightly. Carroll was born on October 21, 1939 in Stephenville to the late Earl and Thelma Johnson Golightly. He married Janis Mewbourn on August 6, 1960 in Stephenville. Janis preceded him in death on June 20, 2002. Carroll married Alma Quirl on June 13, 2011 in Stephenville. Carroll owned and operated Golightly Body Shop in Stephenville over 20 years, and after he sold the body shop he began to farm and ranch. Carroll was a member of Cowboy Church of Erath County. He loved automobiles, especially corvettes, and he and Alma loved to travel. Carroll was a lifelong resident of Stephenville. Survivors include his wife, Alma; son, Danny and wife Mendy Golightly of Brock; daughter, Paula and husband Keith Kinsel of Stephenville; step-sons, Korby and wife Deanna Quirl of Little Elm, Jason and wife Yvette Quirl of Stephenville, Marcus Quirl of Granbury, Andy and wife Debbie Quirl of Stephenville; step-daughter, Sally and husband Wayne Jones of Stephenville; grandchildren, Alan and wife Ashley Kinsel of Galveston, Brandon and wife Morgan Kinsel of Kerrville, Zackary Kinsel of Stephenville, Zeb Kinsel of Stephenville, Jana Golightly and Grant Golightly both of Brock; step-grandchildren, Kyla, Parker, Jacqui, Jay, Preston, Lucas, Hallie, Nicolas, Karah, and Abigail; great grandchildren, Jarad Kinsel and Sarah Kinsel, and step great grandchild, Piper; sister, Norma Jean Wilson of Stephenville; sisters of his heart, Betty Rose of Stephenville and Bo McGlothlin of Odessa; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides his parents, and wife, Janis; Carroll was also preceded in death by a brother, Von Golightly; and a step-daughter, Kesha Pack. The Golightly family wishes expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to Foster's Home for Children in Stephenville.
