Carl Chambers, 80, of Paradise, died Monday, March 23, 2009 in Decatur. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Matt Edwards, officiating. Masonic Graveside services will follow at West End Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday at Stephenville Funeral Home. Carl was born September 29, 1928, in Dublin to the late James Milton and Elma Mayfield Chambers. He married Rosemary Jones, December 1946 in Stephenville. Carl was a member of the Paradise First Baptist Church. He served over 50 years in the Masonic Lodge, a member of the Boyd Masonic Lodge #479. He was a Shriner, and a member of the Scottish Rite. Carl served as District Deputy Grand Master of the 87th District in 1983. Carl grew up in Erath County, and lived several years in Arlington. He moved to Paradise in 1964. Carl was retired from Chance Vaught Corp. and Bell Helicopter where he was an aircraft assemblyman shop foreman. He is survived by his wife Rosemary; two sons and daughters-in-law, Rodney Carl and Linda Chambers of Buffalo Gap; James Donald and Bonnie Chambers of Paradise; grandchildren, Kristina Dawn and husband Chuck Rhoades, James Brandon Chambers, and Amber Rose Chambers; great grandchildren, Jayson Rhoades and Zoe Elizabeth Rhoades; and niece, Karen Janet Jones He was preceded in death by two children Lela Rose and Gary Dean Chambers, and by one sister, Esta Lee Chambers Jones.
