Byrl Aline Carr, 91, of Stephenville, died Saturday, August 30, 2014 in Stephenville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Philip Dale Carr and Mike Fritscher officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be held at 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. Byrl was born on September 4, 1922 in Erath County to the late Amos Clint and Elva L. Watson Ray. She married William Cleon Carr on November 10, 1939 in Stephenville. He preceded her in death on December 12, 2001. Byrl was a faithful member of Alexander Baptist Church and more recently the Cottonwood Baptist Church, a lifelong resident of Erath County. She was a homemaker and much more. She was instrumental in helping her husband with the business portion of their dairy farm south of Alexander. She was an avid gardener and loved to do crochet and quilting. She loved to write and had multiple articles published in various farm and garden magazines. After retiring from the dairy, she and her husband traveled over much of the United States enjoying the scenery and homes of her scattered family. In 2010, she moved to Oakwood Assisted Living, in Stephenville. Byrl is survived by four sons, Travis Cleon and wife Minnie Carr of Fremont, California, Norval Ray and wife Nancy Carr of Granville, Ohio, Curtis Wayne and wife Carol Carr of Abilene, and Philip Dale and wife Linda Carr of Dublin; grandchildren, Jeffrey Carr, Christin Turner, Stephen Carr, Kenneth Carr, Brian Carr, Timothy Carr, Robby Carr, Lauren Wernert, Lacretia Price, Melisha Wayne, Cindy Rosas, and Chuck Robberts; twenty seven great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Edna Verne Ray and Latrece Whittlesey. Byrl was also preceded in death by a grandson, Bradley Don Carr on March 6, 1986; and by three brothers, A. C. Ray, Waymon Ray, and Charles Frank Ray.
