Bonnie Lucile Griffin Wood, 95, of Stephenville, died Sunday, July 5, 2020 Granbury.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, July 8th at Erath Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Stephenville with Glen Newberry officiating. Services are under direction of Stephenville Funeral Home.

Bonnie was born April 15, 1925 in Clyde, Texas to the late Evin Terry and Annie Jane Griffin. She married Thedis Wood on July 31, 1949 in Abilene and they were married until his death in 2016. Bonnie graduated from Abilene Christian College/University with a bachelor's degree and completed her Master's degree from Tarleton State University. Bonnie taught school at Sheryland, Quail, Granbury, Temple, and finally at Stephenville High School from 1968 to 1986. She worked at Tipton's Home for Children in Oklahoma and also as a housewife and mother until her children were school age. During their marriage, Bonnie and Thedis lived in Tolar, Texas City, Temple, and moved to Stephenville in 1968 where she spent the rest of her life. Bonnie co-owned and operated Camp Paluxy in Bluff Dale for 42 years, taught 55 Alive for AARP for 20 years, and volunteered as a member of the Stephenville Hospital Auxiliary for 14 years. Bonnie was a faithful, lifelong member of the Church of Christ, most recently of Graham Street Church of Christ.

Survivors include her children, Rugene and husband Bobby Gentry of Weatherford, Teresa and husband Bruce Musgrave of Bluff Dale, and Lyndal and wife Danette Wood of Dallas; grandchildren, Kathy Gentry, Amanda and husband Caleb Medlin, Raven and husband Carlon King, Sheena and husband Keith Sihvonen, Jana and husband Dean Lee, Cassandra and husband Josh Nigo, Matthew Wood, Michael Wood, Cameron and wife Sara Berges, Chelsea and husband Ty Hunter, and Brittany and husband Richard Fossum; 16 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Bonnie was also preceded in death by her husband, Thedis Wood; infant son, David Earl Wood; foster son, Nolan Kitchens; brothers, Clyde and wife Edith Griffin; RC and wife Lee Griffin; and Dale and wife Maxine Griffin; sisters, Bernice and husband Jay Tucker; and Ruby and husband Everett Lambert and nephew R.C. Griffin Jr.
