Bonnie Walker, 89, of Abilene, died Thursday, June 6, 2013 in Abilene. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, June 8th at Johnsville Cemetery, with her family officiating. Services under direction of Stephenville Funeral Home. Bonnie was born on December 31, 1923 in Austin, Texas to the late Walter Willie and Ola Vesta Duzan McGhee. She married Henry Alexander Walker on May 13, 1961 in Kingsland. Henry preceded her in death on December 8, 1991. Bonnie was a member of the Church of Christ, and had a master's degree in Library Science. She has lived numerous places; Stephenville, Dallas, Desoto, Austin, and Asheville, North Carolina. She has lived in Abilene since 1976. Bonnie was a librarian. Bonnie and her past husband raised dozens of foster children and took in and cared for many many children. She was a kind soul who loved reading. Many years were spent serving others at the ACU Library. Survivors include her sons, Henry Walker, Jr. and Nhan Van Hua; daughters, Virginia Walker Hopper and Elizabeth Walker Whatley; and numerous foster children, and lots of grandchildren.
