Bobby Lee Greenwood

Bobby Lee Greenwood, 84, of Bluff Dale passed away Sunday, September 23, 2012 in Bluff Dale. Memorial Services will be held Friday, September 28, 2012, at 2:00 PM at the Bluff Dale Tabernacle with Loraine Waughtal officiating. Visitation will be Thursday night from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM at Stephenville Funeral Home. Bobby was born to the late Jewel Sumner and Ella Goforth Greenwood on March 30, 1928 in Stephenville. He married Martrue Hutcheson on May 16, 1959 in Bluff Dale. She preceded him in death on January 12, 2011. Bobby was a lifelong resident of Bluff Dale and a member of the Bluff Dale Methodist Church. For 40+ years, Bobby worked for Ken Davis Industries as Sales Manager of Stratoflex, Inc. in Fort Worth, always driving back home at the end of the day to his beloved farm in the Bluff Dale valley. At Stratoflex he touched the lives of many with a leadership style of strong principles, sincere & devoted caring of others, and a signature sense of humor. Then Bob got to shed his business suit & tie to spend 20+ wonderful retirement years on his farm in his much preferred greasy overalls and ball cap. He continued to touch the lives of those who knew him - and there were many. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and was a Mason for 50 years, having received the Golden Trowel. He was a devoted, self-sacrificing, father, husband, and friend who has left an amazing legacy of love and admiration beyond words to describe. Bobby is survived by his daughters, Marcy and husband Greg Derrick of Stephenville; Virginia Kirkpatrick of Cedar Hill, grandson, Andrew Kirkpatrick; brother-in-law, Larry and wife Karon Hutcheson of North Richland Hills; nephew, Mark and wife Shannon Hutcheson of Austin, and their children Emma and Hanna; niece, Melissa and husband Fons Crijns of the Netherlands, and their children Christopher and Chloe; niece, Whitney Hutcheson; and nephew, Mathew Hutchison both of Austin. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to the Bluff Dale Methodist Church, P. O. Box 117, Bluff Dale, Texas 76433; or to the Bluff Dale Area Food Bank at the same address.
