Blanche Gilbert

Blanche Gilbert, 75, of Stephenville, died Wednesday, January 1, 2014 in Stephenville Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 4 at 1:00 PM at the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jerry Summy officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home. Blanche was born on February 25, 1938 in Arkansas to the late Randolph and Mae Parker Howard. She married Delmer Gilbert on November 16, 1957 in Durant, Oklahoma. Blanche was a homemaker and enjoyed scrapbooking and making cards for the sick and those in need of encouragement. She lived in Haltom City from 1954 until she and Delmer moved to Stephenville in 1995. She was a member of the Stephenville First Baptist Church. Blanche is survived by her husband, Delmer; son, Randy Gilbert of Stephenville; daughter, Cherrie Lynn and husband Joe McCartney of Granbury; sister, Mary White of White Settlement; grandchildren, Gwen and husband Jarred Hooste of Fort Worth and Vanessa and husband Jerry McDaniel of Winder, Georgia; great grandchildren, Adam, Hadley, Alyssa, Logan, Savannah, and Cameron; brother-in-law, Jerry Gilbert of Stephenville.
