Billy Joe Brooks

Billy Joe Brooks, 85, of Stephenville died Monday, January 30, 2012 in Stephenville Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Johnson Cemetery in Erath County. Rosary will be held tonight at 7:00 PM in the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Father Philip McNamara officiating. Billy Joe was born on March 9, 1926 in Seymour to the late Harvey Glen and Grace Adams Brooks. He married Tommie June Profitt on August 2, 1947 in Vernon. Billy Joe was a member of the VFW, and Disabled Veterans. He was a member of St. Brendan's Catholic Church, and had lived in Erath County most of his life. Billy Joe retired after 27 years with the U. S. Air Force serving in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. Survivors include his wife, Tommie; children, Tommy and wife Jan Brooks, Don Brooks, Richard and wife Brenda Brooks, Belinda Brooks, Keith and wife Tamantha Brooks; grandchildren, Cody and wife Brittany Bamber, Elizabeth and husband Jason Evans, Kyle Rainwater. Angel and husband Sean Guthrie, Conner Brooks, Taylor Brooks, Jarrett Brooks, and Zachary Brooks; great grandchildren, Jackson, Elora, and Iceson. He was preceded in death by six brothers.
