Billie Wayne 'Bill' Sharp, 87, of Stephenville went to be with The Lord on December 7, 2012. Funeral Services will be held at Valley Grove Baptist Church on Sunday, December 9, 2012, at 2:00 pm with visitation at the Stephenville Funeral Home on Saturday, December 8, 2012 from 6:00pm to 8:00 pm. He will be laid to rest in the Lower Greens Creek Cemetery located on the Dublin Highway. Bill was born on April 19, 1925 in Dublin, Texas to Ocie & Irene (Owen) Sharp. On June 5, 1949, in Dublin, he married Dorothy Charlene (Pack) Sharp. Bill was an active member of the community. He served in World War II as a Medic in the Navy from Sept 8, 1943 to January 3, 1946. He was a fireman and paramedic at Los Alamos, New Mexico and a fireman at Fort Wolters, Mineral Wells. Bill landscaped businesses and homes all over the community, taught Sunday School for about 65 years, Deacon at Valley Grove Baptist Church, wonderful husband, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great great grandfather. Bill is survived by his wife, Charlene Sharp and four children: Gwen Armstrong & husband Tom of Granbury, Wayne Sharp & wife Putu of Hallsville, Mickial Sharp & wife Beth of Grand Prairie and Brenda Wimberly & husband Mark of Houston. Bill had 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild. He is survived by eight brothers and sisters: Ray Sharp of Dublin, Texas, Helen Howell of Stephenville, Texas, Dwight Sharp of Granbury, Texas, Bobby Sharp of Jacksboro, Texas, JoAnn Brantley of Midlothian, Texas, Patsy Easley of Corpus Christi, Texas, Rita Feagins of Red Water, Texas and Gary Sharp of Dublin, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents Ocie & Irene Sharp and three brothers and one sister, Maurice Sharp, Weldon Sharp, Nita Sharp Satterwhite, and Eric Lynn Sharp. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Valley Grove Baptist Church building fund and Gideon Bibles.
