Bill Riggs, 83, of Stephenville, died Saturday, November 10, 2018, in Stephenville.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 17th at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Danny Sherman and Ben McCleery officiating. Burial will follow at Pony Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday at Stephenville Funeral Home.
Bill was born on April 14, 1935 in Erath County to the late Elvis and Verna Meador Riggs. He married Tommie Lou McCleery on January 29, 1955 in Stephenville. Tommie Lou preceded him in death on December 10, 2010. Bill was a member of the Pony Creek Baptist Church, served many years on the Erath County Sherriff's Posse, and was a life long resident of Stephenville. Bill owned and operated Riggs Transport, a trucking company; and spent many years as a dairyman.
Bill is survived by three daughters, Billie Lou and husband Johnny Hook of Millsap, Penny and husband Drew Burk of Aledo, Linda and husband Greg Morrison of Granbury; nine grandchildren, Randi and husband Brandon Brackney, Justin Riggs, Monty Riggs, Kallie and husband Josh Hare, Lindsay and husband Clint Martin, Micah and husband Tyler Mayo, Brady and wife Teal Morrison, Cade Burk, and Shelby and husband Michael Martin; eleven great grandchildren, Breeanna, Sawyer, Tucker, Riggs, Hagen, Brynlee, Case, McCleery, Hayes, Ridge, and Maxwell; and several nieces and nephews, and cousins.
Besides his parents, and wife, Tommie Lou; Bill was also preceded in death by a son, Ricky in 2003; brother, J. C. Riggs; and sister, Jean Noonkester.
