Bettye Jo Terry

Bettye Jo Terry, 85, passed away April 3, 2011 in Stephenville Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Weldon Branham officiating. Interment will follow at West End Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Stephenville Funeral Home. Bettye was born January 15, 1926 in Erath County to the late Loyd and Ruby B. Goodson Kirklen. She married Freddie D. Terry on April 7, 1950 in Stephenville and he preceded her in death on July 13, 2003. Betty has resided in Stephenville all of her life and was a member of Church of Christ. She was a checker for Piggly Wiggly for 16 years and also worked at the Stephenville High School cafeteria for 8 years. Bettye was a member of the VFW Women's Auxillary, and the Erath County Sheriff's Posse Women's Auxillary. Bettye is survived by a daughter JoAnn Smith and husband John of Huckabay; son, Jimmy L. Terry and wife Rose of San Antonio; grandchildren, Scott Smith; Jeffrey Smith; Kasey Terry and Kaley Terry; a great-granddaughter, Tatum Smith; sisters, Bobbie Roberson of Stephenville and Billye Koonce of Desdemona.
