Bettye Ruth (Lindsey) Spears

Bettye Ruth (Lindsey) Spears, 89, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2022 in Weatherford, Texas.

Bettye was born in Estancia, New Mexico to the late Jesse Samuel Lindsey and Julia White.  She was a long-time resident of Stephenville, Texas and a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church. She spent many years working for Morgan Express followed by Tarleton State University and Chamberlain Elementary. Bettye loved to crochet and enjoyed gardening. People often commented about seeing Bettye tending to the flowers in her front yard on Frey Street.

Bettye is survived by her five children, David (Cindy) Lovelace; Sharon (Darrell) Stephens; Harrell (Marilyn) Lovelace; Shelli (Justin) Lascsak; and Sandra Spears; her brother, Ray Lindsey; sister-in-law, Peggy (Jesse) Lindsey; six grandchildren, Angela; Holly; Paul; Johnny; Harrell Jr.; and Jacob; 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Bettye was preceded in death by her siblings, Ruby Pounds; Jesse Lindsey; and Alfred Lindsey.

A memorial service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Ranger, Texas on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 2:00 pm.
