Bettye Jean Jones

Morgan Mill Bettye Jean Jones, loving wife, mother, daughter, aunt and friend to so many, was called home to her Lord and Savior Friday, September 17, 2010, at the age of 74. She was born December 19, 1935, to Robert Lee and Lillian Wood in San Angelo, Texas. She graduated from Stephenville High School and Tarleton State College. She married Ben Jones on January 28, 1957. She and Ben lived in Houston for many years before retiring to Morgan Mill where she was an active member of Morgan Mill Baptist Church and a valued member of the community. She constantly and unselfishly gave of herself to family and friends. She devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to family members and friends and touched many lives as a spiritual counselor throughout her life. Bettye lived by example and had an unwavering faith that was an inspiration to us all. She is survived by her husband, Ben Jones; sons Ben Jones Jr. and wife, Holly; and Lee Jones; sisters Frances Lawrence and Joyce Wood; nieces and nephews Pam Vitez, Ken Harris, Chuck Harris, Mike Pope, Michele Titsworth, Joe Pope and Doris Alvarado and many great and great-great nieces and nephews who cherish her sweet memory. Visitation will be Sunday, September 19, 2010 from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM at the Stephenville Funeral home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, September 20, 2010, in the Morgan Mill Baptist Church with Joe Rogers and Walt Millet officiating.
