Sue Wooten

Sue was born July 9, 1938 in Comanche, Texas to Effie and Fait Tinney. 

She attended public schools in Comanche. She married Charles Wooten on August 21, 1954 in Dublin. Sue and Charles raised their family in Dublin. Sue enjoyed being a homemaker, and she excelled at many hobbies, including sewing and golf. She had a deep affection for nature, and took special care of her flowers, gardens, and birds. Sue was a member of First Baptist Church in Dublin.

Sue’s greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. From ball games to dance recitals, rodeo events to ag shows, Sue was a consistent source of support and encouragement. She delighted in the happiness of others. Sue leaves a legacy of enduring love for her family. Her friends and loved ones will remember Sue’s strength and resilience, navigating life’s challenges with dignity and grace. 

Sue is survived by her daughters, Deb Hall and husband Mike of Dublin, and Carolyn Tidwell and husband Lynn of Dublin; her son, Kenneth Wooten and wife Connie of Breckenridge; her grandchildren, Stacie Hall and boyfriend Patrick Salyer of Dublin, Steven Hall and wife Jennifer of Proctor, Kody Mac Wooten and wife Amy of Burleson, Lauren Schmidt and husband Kade of Reydon, Oklahoma, Jake Tidwell of Dublin, and Pecos Wooten and wife Christin of Brock; her eleven great-grandchildren; and her sister, Marie Johnson.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Effie and Fait Tinney; her husband, Charles Wooten; her sisters, Laverta Benningfield, Louise Hall, Alma Bear, Neva Dean Boatright, Dorothy Howard, and Joyce Teague; and her brothers, Lawrence Tinney, and J.C. Tinney.

Sue’s family wishes to express their gratitude to the Solaris team and the Waymaker caregivers who cared for her during her battle with cancer.

Funeral service will be held Friday, February 7, 2025 at 2pm at Stephenville Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Dublin Live Oak Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5PM to 7PM Thursday, February 6 at Stephenville Funeral Home.
