Betty Jo Evans

Betty Jo Evans, 94, of Stephenville, passed away on Monday February 15, 2021 in Hico.

Jo was cremated, and her cremains will be buried at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church Garden on Saturday February 27, 2021.

Jo was born on June 28, 1926 to the late B. G. and Dura Green Evans.  She attended many schools in West Texas before graduating from Stephenville High School in 1944.  She married Van A. ‘Barney’ Evans on August of 1944 in Stephenville.  They attended St Luke’s Episcopal Church.  Jo was a Registered Nurse.

Jo is survived by her children, Van Evans and wife Betty, Scott and wife Sherrie, Ann and her wife Ruthie LeClere; grandchildren, Jeff Evans and wife Este, Shelly Brown, Jason Evans and wife Beth, Van Evans and fiancé Katie, Jay Evans, Macon Graves and husband Jon Michael Graves, and Nathan Broz and girlfriend Christal; twenty two great grandchildren; and special nephews and nieces, David, Kay, Emily, Chris, and Allison.

Jo was preceded in death by her husband, Barney Evans; and a brother, Bill Brown.
