Bertha Lee Irons

Bertha Lee Irons, 84, of Stephenville, passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2010 in Stephenville. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Erath Gardens of Memory Cemetery Chapel in Erath County, under the direction of Stephenville Funeral Home. Bertha was born on July 25, 1926 in Oklahoma to the late Lewis and Myrtle Roberson Richards. She married Homer Joe Irons, Sr. on October 14, 1944 and he preceded her in death on April 30, 2003. She has resided in Erath County since the late 70s and was a member of the Huckabay Baptist Church. Bertha was a homemaker and a volunteer for the Auxiliary in the different communities she has lived. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Holley and husband Weldon of Pampa; granddaughter, Barbara Goodwin of Stephenville; grandson, James Holley of Amarillo; Great-grandchildren, Candy Gartman, Joseph Gross, Tyler Holley, and Ashley Holley; four great great-grandchildren; and sister, Joann Stephens of Fairfax, OK. Bertha was also preceded in death by a son, Jody Irons. Memorials may be made to the Huckabay Baptist Church.
