Bert Mccann

Bert McCann, 75, of Stephenville Texas passed away July 2, 2012 at a local nursing center. Graveside service for Bert will be on Friday, July 6, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Hannibal cemetery with the Rev. Steve Holston officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2012 from 6-8 PM at Stephenville Funeral Home. Bert was born on March 25, 1937, to the late Jessie William and Ella Marie Gilliam McCann in Erath County. He married Gayle Deaton on September 20, 1958 in Hannibal Texas. Bert was employed as a gas plant operator. Bert was a lifetime resident of Erath County as well as a member of Hannibal Methodist Church. Bert is survived by his wife, Gayle of Stephenville; son, Sherman Eugene McCann and wife Phyllis of Morgan Mill; Granddaughters, Natalie McCann of Stephenville; Holly Sanders and husband Curtis of Stephenville; Sommer Davis and husband Brent of San Antonio; great grandsons, Hunter Corbell; Cutter Sanders and Creed Sanders; Sisters, Anne Mae Tutor of Uvalde; Helen Adams and husband Jimmy of DeLeon; Janie Gilbreath and husband Joe of Stephenville; Brothers, David McCann and wife Jeanette of Stephenville; Joe McCann and wife Nellie of Stephenville, and Wayne McCann of Arkansas. Bert was preceded in death by his daughter, Jana Joye Keith, brother, James McCann, sister, Katherine Petty, and brothers in law, Wayne Tutor and Walter Petty. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society; Hannibal Methodist Church, or charity of choice.
