Benna Joan Thornton Kelley

Benna Joan Thornton Kelley, 79, of Stephenville, died Sunday, February 21, 2010 in Granbury. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, at Stephenville Funeral Home with Reverend Scott Pace, officiating, assisted by Ben McCleery. Interment will follow at Lingleville East End Cemetery in Lingleville. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday at Stephenville Funeral Home Benna was born January 5, 1931, in Bosque County to the late Ben and Ruby Rayfield Thornton. She married Wayne Kelley, June 13, 1948 in Glen Rose. He preceded her in death July 2, 1997. Benna was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church, and had lived in Stephenville most of her life. She worked over 30 years at the Grand Entry Western Store. Survivors include her daughter, Kathy and husband Scott Umphress of Granbury; grandchildren, David and wife Christi Umphress, Jr. of Aledo, and Beth and husband Billy Rasberry of Granbury; great grandchildren, John Anderson of California and Ashley and Taylor Umphress of Granbury; sister-in-law, LaVerne Beyer of Huckabay; several nieces and nephews Family wishes expression of sympathy be made in the form of donations to the charity of choice.
