Barbara Elaine (Mckinney) Bays

Barbara McKinney Bays, 78, of Stephenville, with her two children at her side, holding her hands, when she took her last breath on this earth on Wednesday, February 28th,  her first new breath was in eternity with Jesus.

Funeral services for Barbara will be at 10:30 AM Monday, March 4th at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Werth Mayes officiating.  Burial will follow at Erath Gardens of Memory Cemetery.  Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday at Stephenville Funeral Home.

Barbara was born on July 25, 1945, in Stephenville to the late Emmett and Willie Edna Lindley McKinney.  On June 8, 1962, Barbara married the love of her life Royce in Stephenville.  Royce preceded her in death on September 3, 2021.  Barbara was a member of Cowboy Church of Erath County.  For several years she worked as a clerk for HEB.  She loved to play cards, camping, cooking, and listening to blue grass music.  Most of all, Barbara loved spending time with her family.  Barbara was a lifelong resident of Erath County.

Survivors include her daughter, Angela and husband Glen Cumbie of Burleson; their two children Chase and Courtney Cumbie; Barbara’s son, David Bays, and his children, Randi and husband Michael Hallam, Colt Bays, and Derek Bays; great grandchildren, Axle, Rhyker, Hartlii, Tinslii, and Reign; and a niece, Becky McKinney.

Besides her parents, and husband, Royce; Barbara was also preceded in death by a brother, Clinton Roy McKinney, and a nephew, Bruce McKinney.
