B. A. "Blackie" Darrow, 98, passed away Saturday, October 20, 2007 in Abilene. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday October 24, 2007 at the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Chris Frizzell officiating. Interment will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Erath County. Blackie was born on November 30, 1908 in Greer County, Oklahoma to the late Munroe and Anna Gosnell Darrow. He married Idahlia Allen on May 25, 1940 in Kermit and she preceded him in death March 31, 2000. He was an Elder of the East Church of Christ in Kermit for 18 years, and a Gasoline Plant Superintendent for Cabot Corp. Blackie resided in Stephenville from 1976 until 1998 after living in Kermit for the previous 39 years. While in Stephenville he and Idahlia were members at Graham Street Church of Christ He lived in Granbury from 1998 until 2000, and worshiped at Granbury Church of Christ. He is survived by his son, Jon and wife Patricia Darrow of Abilene; daughter, Judith and husband Jim Mackey of Granbury; six grandchildren, Todd and Ronna Darrow, Mark & Melanie Darrow, Scott & Pam Darrow, Kim & Nick Garner, Jeffery Stansell, and Shelley Mackey; six great-grandchildren, Ashton, Colby, and Braden Darrow, Kayla, Kevin, and Blake Darrow Memorials may be made to the Zim-Care, Inc.
