Arnold J. Schecht

Arnold J. Schecht, 87, of Stephenville, died Sunday, January 19, 2014 in Temple. Military Graveside services will be held at 9:15 AM Friday, January 24th at the Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas. Services are under direction of Stephenville Funeral Home. Arnold was born on April 25, 1926 in Brooklyn, New York, to the late Barney and Fay Scholder Schecht. He married Karen Stewart on September 8, 1973 in Hempstead, New York. Arnold served in the U. S. Navy during WWII, and was a commercial airline pilot for Eastern Airlines for several years. Survivors include his wife, Karen; children, Josh Schecht and wife Sarah, Erin Davis, Kip Schecht and wife Colleen; and Scott Schecht and wife Amanda; brother, Larry Schecht; grandchildren, Connor Schecht, Sierra Schecht, Evan Schecht, Bradan Schecht, Brianah Schecht, Colton Schecht, and Graham Davis. The Schecht family wishes in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Veterans Administration, Voluntary Services-Hospice, 1901 Veterans Memorial Drive, Temple, Texas 76504.
