Anna May Gibson-Collins Ray, 84, of Stephenville, died Sunday, March 10, 2019, in Stephenville.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with David Bearden and Carroll Cawyer officiating. Burial will follow at West End Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday at Stephenville Funeral Home. Pallbearers for Anna's service are Michael Gruenwald, Justin Barrow, Cody Barrow, Travis Belcher, Houston Belcher, and Neal Larson.
Anna was born on August 30, 1934 in Thurber to the late Era Lee Gibson-Collins and Mryl Gibson. She married Le Arval ‘Luke' Ray on July 11, 1952, in Stephenville. Luke preceded her in death on June 16, 2014, a marriage of 62 years. Anna was a member of the Hillcrest Church of Christ, and had worked over 14 years in the Erath County Clerks office.
Anna is survived by her children, Robert Lynn Ray and his wife Jana of Liberty Hill, Kathy Ray Gruenwald and husband Chuck of Stephenville, Marla Ray Anderson and husband Billy of Palacios, and Tracie Ray Larson and husband Terry of Cat Springs; 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Luke; parents, Era Lee and J. E. Collins, and Myrl Gibson; sister, June Day; and grandchildren, Jason and Stephanie Anderson.
The Ray family offers special thanks to Community Care Services Hospice team who took care of their mother, and to Caregivers, Jennifer Leatherman, Mary Ann Moreno, and Kassandra Baron.
The Ray family also wishes expressions of sympathy be made to the American Heart Assn, or CCS Hospice, Final Gifts, 118 E. Liveoak Street, Dublin, Texas 76446.
