Andrew Johnny Grant Dean

September 16, 2000 — August 2, 2022

Stephenville- Andrew Johnny Grant Dean, 21, unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 after succumbing to injuries from a motorcycle accident that occurred on Monday.

Andrew grew up in Tennessee, where he learned the meaning of having a volunteer spirit. He and his family moved to Texas just before his senior year of high school, and with plans to continue with further education, he decided to work hard and get good grades. All of his hard work paid off in May of 2019, when he graduated from his high school as valedictorian. Looking for a way to serve his community, he joined the Erath County Volunteer Fire Department. It was there that he found his calling, and a brotherhood that he had always wanted.

Never one to do anything halfway, Andrew worked hard as a volunteer firefighter. In 2021, he was awarded Rookie of the Year for Erath County VFD. He went on to get his EMT certification, after which he worked as a full time EMT for the City of Dublin, and part time for Erath County EMS. Andrew was working on getting his fire certification, and had plans on following in his big sister’s footsteps by becoming a paramedic.

Andrew was preceded in death by his grandparents Arlen Pippin, Betty and Charlie Dean, and Donald Fishler. He is survived by his parents Andy and Debbie Dean, siblings Faith and Christina (Cissy) Dean, LJ Whites, Tye Fishler and family, Amanda Dean and family. Also survived by nephew Logan Fishler, grandmother Jennifer Fishler, and uncle Curt Smith.

Visitation will be Sunday, August 7,2022 from 5-7pm at the Cowboy Church of Erath County. The celebration of life service will be held at the same location on Monday, August 8, 2022 at 9 am. There will be a funeral procession afterwards from the Cowboy Church of Erath County heading south on highway 67/377 to the Dublin EMS Station, and return north on highway 377/67  to the Erath County Fire & Rescue facility. A private graveside is planned for Andrew following the procession, where Last Call for 844 will go out.

A non-profit organization is being formed in memory of Andrew to benefit Erath County Fire. If you would like to make a donation, you can do so by donating to First Financial Bank “in the benefit of Andrew J Dean”.
