Alton C. Holder

Alton C. Holder 94, of Stephenville, Texas passed away Friday, February 19, 2010 in Stephenville. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, February 22, 2010 at Valley Grove Baptist Church with Glenn Shock officiating. Interment will follow at West End Cemetery. Visitation: 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday at the Stephenville Funeral Home. Alton was born September 24, 1915 in Arkansas to the late George and Mattie Chaney Holder. He married Hazel Derrick on November 18, 1939 in Stephenville. Alton was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church and had resided in Erath County most of his life. He was a farmer, rancher as well as the owner of Holder's Laundry for several years. Alton is survived by his wife, Hazel of Stephenville; daughter, Lucretia Eller of Fort Worth; brother, Hollydean Holder of Fort Worth; three grandchildren, Wayland Edmondson, Quata Baggett , Byron Edmonson; two great-grandchildren and six great-greatgrandchildren.
