Alma Freels, 90, of Stephenville, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 in Fort Worth. Funeral Services will be held at 5:00 PM, Saturday, February 20, 2010 at First Baptist Church with Werth Mayes officiating. Interment will be at Garden Park Cemetery in Conroe at a later date. Visitation will be held 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday at Stephenville Funeral Home. Alma was born September 29, 1919, in Fort Worth to the late Howard and Maude Ester Cantrell Ferrell. She married Luther Murrel Freels in Midland. He preceded her in death in 1978. Alma was in fashion merchandising, a clothing buyer in New York for many years. She worked many years at Bealls and Mitchells. She was a member of the Cowboy Church, and had lived in Stephenville since 1981; moving here from Conroe. She is survived by 2 daughter-in-laws, Rita Freels of Stephenville, and Carol Freels of Eupora, Mississippi; Rita's children and grandchildren, son, Shane and wife Monica Freels of Lucas, TX, and their children, Isabella, Triton, Gwyneth, and Blythe, son, Korey and wife Jamie Freels of Montgomery, and their children, Tyler, Hannah, and Kahlan; daughter, Amber and husband Casey Butaud of Conroe, and their children, Stratton and Aspen; and son, Jake and wife Sarah Freels of Houston; Carol's children and grandchildren, daughter, Lynn and husband Eric Schoondergang of Fort Worth, son, Chris and wife Natasha Freels of McAllen, and their children, Harrison, Ella, and Sawyer, daughter, Stephanie and husband Bill Stewart of Eupora, Mississippi, and their son, Sproles, and daughter, Holly and husband Chad Hawkins of Eupora, Mississippi; and niece, Donna Kay DeFore of Florida Besides her husband, Alma was preceded in death by her two sons, Dr. Mike L Freels and Dr. Billy James Freels.
