Alfredo Meras

Alfredo Meras, 49, of Stephenville, died Thursday, August 6, 2009 in Des Plaines, Illinois. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday at St. Brendan's Catholic Church with Father Phil McNamara officiating. Burial will follow at West End Cemetery in Stephenville. Visitation: Tuesday, 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon and 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Alfredo was born January 11, 1960 in Durango, Mexico to Ana Maria and Francisco Meraz. Alfredo worked as a truck driver for companies in and around Stephenville for most of his life. He proudly became a U.S. citizen in 1991. He loved dancing, caring for animals, and claiming "I'm only 21!" Alfredo is survived by his parents; daughter, Talia and husband Tim Gaston of McKinney, Texas; son, Nicasio Meras of Stephenville; daughter, Daniella Aysa Meras of Comanche, Texas; grandson, Trey Gaston of McKinney; sisters, Hilaria Favela, Ernestina Meraz, Julia Campos, Maria R. Meraz, Ermelinda Martinez, Gabriella Meraz; brother, Juan Meraz; and many nieces, nephews, godchildren, and close friends.
