Alfred Edd "Pampaw" Anthony, 90, of Stephenville passed away Thursday, January 31, 2013 in Stephenville. No Funeral or Memorial Services per Al's request. Al was born on December 22, 1922 in Weatherford, TX to the late Alfred Edmund Anthony and Cora Mae Scott. Al grew up there as a child as well as in Mineral Wells. He served in the US Army during WW II as a Flight Mechanic then on to work in the General Aviation Industry. While working in the airline business he was awarded the position of a Vice President at Trans Texas Airways. During this part of his aviation career he lived in Ft. Stockton, Dallas, San Angelo & Houston, Texas. Ft. Stockton is where he met his wife Shirley Stephenson. They were married on November 25, 1950. His career then transitioned to the Federal Aviation Administration in which he and Shirley lived in Washington, Hawaii, California, Oklahoma and Texas then retired in 1987. He then found residence in Stephenville while continuing to ranch in Hico and Carlton area and enjoyed ranching, golfing, & watching football. Al was a Mason/Shriner, a longtime member of American Chianina Association and member of the Hico First United Methodist Church. Al is survived by his wife of 62 years Shirley Anthony; 4 Sons, Edd, Richard, Dennis & Tony; Freddie Joe and Pam from a previous marriage; 20 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Fred Anthony; Aunt, Opal He was also preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy & brother, Johnny Lee Al was a man of honor, integrity, and was a kind hearted man. He was always there for his family and friends. Al believed in hard work and enjoyed having fun. Dad & Pampaw we will miss you, thank you for always being there for us! Rest in Peace.
