Albert Carroll Stewart, 87, of Stephenville, died on September 30, 2013 after a short illness. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 3 at the Stephenville Funeral Home with Rev. Buddy Wells officiating. Albert was born on August 31, 1926 to the late Ira Carroll and Clory Stone Stewart in Stephenville, Texas where he was a lifelong resident. He married Bettye Noble Sanford on March 22, 1974, and she preceded him in death in 1989. Albert graduated from Stephenville High School in 1943 and worked on the family farm until 1962. He also worked in retail, most recently retiring from Barnes & McCullough where he found others who shared his interest in carpentry. He was hard working, fiercely independent, and extremely devoted to his family. Albert is survived by his daughter, Sharon and husband Max Gardner of Dallas; son, Gene Stewart of Georgetown; five grandchildren, Courtney and husband Josh Simon, B.J. and wife Charity Stewart, Samuel and wife Heather Stewart, Matthew Gardner, Valerie and husband Brian Nicholas; and six great-grandchildren, Caden Wright, Drew, Bailee, and Elizabeth Stewart, Brinley and Ella Simon. Albert was also preceded in death by his brother Olen Dean who died in childhood. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Presbyterian Communities and Services Foundation, P.O.
