Alan West

Alan West, 55, of Stephenville, passed away Monday, September 5, 2011 in Fort Worth. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am Friday, September 9, 2011 at the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Hannah officiating. Interment will follow at the Oakdale Cemetery in Erath County. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Alan was born on November 11, 1955 in Cleburne, Texas to James Ray and Viva Wesson West. He was a graduate of Stephenville High School and attended Tarleton State University where he was a member of the Los Caballeros. Alan was an auto mechanic and an avid sports fan. He has resided most of his life in Stephenville and he was a Baptist. Alan is survived by a daughter, Courtney West of Stephenville; mother, Viva West of Stephenville; sisters, Caroline Walker and husband, Ace of Stephenville, and Connie Vines and husband, Larry of Burleson; brothers, Gordon West of Burleson, and Johnny West and wife, Lisa of Stephenville; his companion, Theresa Crews and daughter, Cassidy of Stephenville; he was also survived by many nieces and nephews. Alan was preceded in death by his father, James Ray West, and a brother, Charles Earl West.
