Aeric L. Sims, Jr. January 25, 1950 ~ March 22, 2017 Aeric L Sims, Jr., 67, of Stephenville passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2017. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel in Stephenville with David McMinn officiating. The family will receive visitors on Friday, March 24, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Stephenville Funeral Home. Aeric was born on January 25, 1950 in Genoa, Nebraska, to the late Aeric Sims, Sr. and Eva Sims. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam and moved to Stephenville in 1983. Aeric worked as a mechanic for Firestone for many years, and owned his own shop. Survivors include his children, Debbie Lewis of Stephenville, Becca James, and husband Kyle, of Brownwood, James Sims, and wife Ashley, of Stephenville and Felix Ruiz; grandchildren, Jayson Allgood, Haylee Allgood, Hannah Allgood, I'Leigh Johnston, Hendrix Glass, Carter VanZandt, Addisen Zimmerman, K'Leigh James, and Alyvia-Sue Sims; brothers, sisters and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Sims.
